After 12 years on the "Wrong side of the fence" - I was very near to getting "all emotional" when they did eventually let us out to practice - mind you - I had been up all night - loaded the bike in the van - and straight off to Mallory.
I also completed my own "Sidecar push" must have been at least the equivalent of 3 laps before the TZ fired up - or it certainly seemed like it - very disappointing - it's only been sat for twelve years - I even had to put a new set of plugs in the darned thing...
BIG THANKS to Julie too - for doing so much "pushing" -
Was a pity my dreaming of "triumphant return" was not matched by the reality - I was horribly disappointed in my times - although in my defense - I did have horrible intermittent misfire (no really - ask annette)
Thanks also to anyone else that came over to have a word - a mention to "Little Chud's" team - thanks for the words of support - It's much appreciated.
My apologies to anyone I did not recognise - or ignored - It's been a long time away - and If you spoke to me - and I ignored you - I am pretty deaf - so probably didn't hear you
And of course - the perfect end to the day - what better to finish the weekend off than having a rear wheel blowout on the M6 toll road on the way home - certainly takes a hell of a long way to bring a van to a standstill while you're watching the tyre flapping about in the mirror
So again - big thanks to Annette (What a star) - and Robin for being so laid back about everything - you'd swear he was gonna fall over any minute...
