If I'm not mistaken, the wheels are 10" & are the same as were fitted to the 4 front wheel steered F1 Tyrell racing car, more innovation for Rolf Biland borrowed from Ken Tyrell

Marcus made the "sitter" LCR to allow him to ride faster for longer, and he thought that the distribution for the weight would be better. We both rode in the same team that year, I had one of Louis std bikes with the very light gold mag cases adm, and one of them fairings that blow away when a bird flew past ( how lucky i was , happy days ). I was invited to ride the sitter at the practice in Paul Richard , I remember going flat out in 6th down the mistral straight, then back into 5th for the fast right-hander, then the bike twitched as they all did, but it was the riding position and the feed back from hands, feet, hips etc that seemed all different, ( how we didnt crash i never know ) . Think i rode it back to the pits in 3rd with some very saggey leathers .
ps. I belive both those bikes are as we got off them in a cellar somewhere in CH .

Has anyone any pictures of John Campbell's outfit like the go kart.? In the sixties /seventies.

Does anybody remember?? did it have a fairing?? did it have front suspension(hard to tell from old photo)??
did it have much success??? did the driver pursue the idea or did he move on to something else more conventional?? terrific pioneering for the time, but I'm not for changing today's rules to allow sitters, but if as Dave says there are no rules precluding them, then I'd love to see one out there mixing with the rest. I think the sitting position brings with it certain ergonomic advantages over kneeling and it would be sad if these advantages spoiled the class...the Scott Sociable was a sitter road going sidecar in the '20s with an integrated frame construction, so there is a precedent.

It didn't have a fairing, pretty sure it didn't have any suspension, front or rear but it was a long time ago.

Deffo no front suspension, also think that the rear was solid too. Having said that it used to go very well usually perhaps somewhere at the end of the first third of the field. Don't believe that Doug improved on this one, seem to think that he may have retired instead, unless anyone knows differently of course ...

Bosi rode that in 98 WC for No Points/Results as Eckart said. I think, and Webbo would probably confirm, it was because he'd injured his wrists, and wasnt able to do the GP distances any more on 'normal' kneeling position.
But the Original 'LCR Concept' went back the the 1979 GPs when we had B2A & B2B Classes (caused by the BEO uproar in 78). Bruno Hiller/Charlie Mierhans (spelling?) Won B2B .... Almost 'anything goes if it got 3 wheel class' with LCR Sitter. Biland (with new passenger Waltisperg) had one also. Think others runners did both, with some clever modifications to chassis.... (I seem to remember Crazy Horse could use his 'Conventional Chassis' in B2B by converting sidecar mounting wheel so it could steer..........Although i maybe wrong
oh, and the 10" wheel mentioned earlier. I think they were on Bilands B2A outfit that year
