Hi Helen, the report I read stated that the car was on fire, and the cylinder was nearby.

No mention that welding had caused the fire.

Has anyone asked the fire brigade how it used to be ok for Ken to weld in a container for all those years, but now it is not?. A few years ago I can remember at Chimay a caravan going up in flames, no weldiing gear involved. As I said in a previous post how is it ok to have gas cylinders in you caravan, which are used all the time, but not safe to have welding gear which hopefully may not be used at all. For the sake of the TT and all the riders isn't it time Mr Pillphips saw sense and defended the competiotors at a time like this.Waiting for your input Mr P.

Who did they discuss it with?. Anyone who knows the competitors side of the argument obviously wasn't involved.

I'm afraid that fire officers don't have to discuss it with anyone. Their word is law.

It's HEALTH & SAFETY don't you know.
Al and I did a risk assessment and decided against taking our Tig welding equipment because of the
risk of explosion from the highly inflammable ARGON GAS. :? :? :?
I took the shell off my racing snail thinking it would make him faster.
It just made him more sluggish.

Obviously we wouldn't take it to repair ours, it would be to help out all the competitors with Shedbourns, etc.
