My Dad lives in the Isle of Wight and yes there was talk of a TT style road race around the Island, unfortunatly the undercliff road from Ventnor to Niton, where my dad lives has subsided and now been underpinned and made single lane,to widen and repair to make full width would cost thousends,as for New Brighton Prom, thank heavens i got a chance to race there before the do-gooders got involved,i was also very fortunate to be involved with the first sidecar races at Aberdare, along with,Paul Iwanski,Greg lambert,Dave Wallis,Dennis Keen,Steve Wood, think there was only 8 of us,bumpy as hell from what i can remember, remember Dennis Keens passenger falling out on the straight !!!!! TWICE

Also Greg Lambert and Dave Bilton had a big accident, glad to say both were battered but ok.

I'll second that Bruce.
Aberdare was an absolute blast, so glad I did that! The crowds!!
To this day I can't figure out how we all missed the passenger who fell out on the start/finish straight.

Didn't Greg end up half way up a tree? I finished 2nd or 3rd overall (can't remember which) and won £100. It cost me £200 to repair the outfit afterwards!!l
New Brighton was another great 'atmosphere' meeting with huge crowds. I was lying 2nd in the F2 in one race, when the bike threw a chain about 200yds from the finish line, I coasted to a halt and was promptly interviewed by local radio. I don't think the interviewer was ready for all the ****ing ****holes & ******ks when he shoved the mike into me face!
Pity they don't do chairs at the Ulster GP anymore. Did that in '95 & '96. Fantastic meeting. Deers Leap on an outfit really is something else.
Happy days.
