And not forgetting Dave Mallows and his 1300cc Vincent with CRMC

Re: Vincent question
Malcom Atrill towed his race outfit on its wheels behind his road outfit which was another Vincent. Another with odd transport was Mick Fidderman he arrived at circuits with his bike in a hearse

Re: Vincent question
Yes, remember those two well
No motorhomes then and you were well off if you a ubiquitous Thames 15cwt van an deffo a cut above the rest if it was a four-speder

Jack Mines from Darlington

John Renwick
(Below) Me with Malcolm's bike - obviously after he'd bought a van !

Yeah, that's Martin at Baitings Dam, I think it's in 1999.
if so, I was passengering for Jim Noble on an XS650 outfit that day.
Martin also raced a Vincent kneeler for a while

Re: Vincent question
I seem to recall that when we first started racing with the CRMC in 2004 the late Tim Johnson road a big-wheeler with a Vincent engine with his brother Trevor in the chair.
Also don't forget the immaculate French-owned Vincent ridden by Michel Ledermann with Bernadette in the chair. They are regular campaigners in Belgium and they came over to Brands Hatch for the Race of the Year 2008.
Nick Cutmore also had a Vincent I believe which was for sale last year for £25K.
That's it my knowledge has expired!
If you want to speak Konigs - I'm an expert now!! I''m thinking of going on Mastermind - speciality Konigs 1966 - 2010.

Re: Vincent question
Hi nick, yep I raced against Martin many times in F.E.R in the 90's when he was on the kneeler Vincent, blooodily hard rider, lovely guy. He shared the big wheeler with his dad. His dad now & again came out for the Houghton Tower sprint on it. If I remember right, the day Martin's passenger was getting married ( forgotten his name )
Martin took him to the church on the big wheeler all dressed up in 3 piece suits.
I think the Quirks helped Roly Mettam ( Mogvin ) a lot , or vise versa????

Re: Vincent question
Ian, martin's passenger was called John (can't remember his surname), he lived near Haworth. he did indeed get married, to a girl whose father owned the local garage. They emigrated a couple of years later, to New Zealand I believe.
By the way, I know you raced against Martin, I was there too, but you don't remember me, do you?
Strangely, Roly keeps the Mogvin a couple of hundred yards from where I now live.

Off Topic!!! Nick, I've often thought of you & Alex over the years, do you remember my mate Geoff, the Welsh bugggger who came racing with us? I'll scan your article on the Puma & post it, It will take me a while to dig the photos out.
