Excellent !!

On Friday, about practices, no start in first position to avoid the sun.

Two more days on the isle. The foreigners, crossing the Channel before a lot of miles back home, would appreciate.

And what about the ferry between Douglas and Heysham for the whole population of competitors who would want to go back home on Friday eve together ?

It seems that the only consideration has been for the Lightweight class as they can now have a 4 lap race rather than a 3 lapper (probably at manufactuers / sponsors request), and due to the maximum number of laps per day rule they wouldn't have been able to have this race on the same day as the 6 lap senior.

There are no extra practice sessions during the fortnight (the Wednesday session has just replaced the opening Saturday) and during practice week we will be out last in every session bar one and even then we aren't out first (thank goodness the electric bikes are ranked behind us....for now!!).

Getting c50 teams off the Island that weekend rather than filter them out from Thursday will be a nightmare (probably have 2 vehicles each), so I can see people still being here until early the following week.

Teams will still want to come over before the Saturday to do sighting laps, get paddock sorted (if your not set up early you will more likely to lose your spot!), and do riders briefing / signing on etc.

If teams were consulted and this is what they wanted then fair enough (similar to when a few top teams were consulted re tuned engines and the rest of the paddock weren't), I just think this is going to have a negative impact on entries for next year.

The other benefit is Dave, as far as the organisers are concerned, it will stop the paddock looking half empty like it does when the sidecar crews have started leaving after they have raced on Wednesday.

It is going to be hell getting off the Island after Friday's racing and, as you say, it may put off a few teams from entering.....unless of course extra ferries are going to be made available :o :oink: (there isn't a flying one available)

Your right Dan the paddock doesnt look good half empty after the last sidecar race and it will help keep spectator interest till the very end. However the real reason is a 4 lap Mini Twins race.

Some folk were saying on Facebook discussion about this that its very risky having the final sidecar race on the Friday as that leaves no slippage for weather cancellations etc..

However if Friday was rained off - wouldn't it all just shift to Saterday, just as they do with the Senior anyway?

If anyone has spoken to the Steam Racket they'll get filled with a load of bullshit the same as they fill everyone else with. They can't cope now with the boats. How come Joe Public can work this out, but not the highly paid so called intelligent people running the TT.Who's going to want to sit in the paddock for the extra time and as Dick said miss even more time off work.

My guess is the entry's will be down next year, then again the year after and so on. Shame really it was just picking up again.

I don't think the sidecars are wanted by the organisers. Just think how much easier it would be to run the TT without the sidecars over the same time period, much more options to re arrange due to weather. Also, consultation and negotiation are two different words with completely different meanings, like bow and bough.
No pleasure is worth giving up for the sake of two more years in a geriatric home.

The real truth behind this change, is so they can get more of the top riders on the supertwins, as many would not do the twins directly before the Senior. From the horses mouth. The problems caused to the sidecars was not even a consideration.
