The magnum drove via a special Borg and Beck clutch.
I drove one with Bill Boldison in the chair during practice at at a Donnington meeting
and we were astounded by the tourque of the motor, I then passengered Tony Wakefield
for one race at Silverstone when Colin Newbold was unable to race but had to 'tap' him
after a few laps as I was not fit enough.

Dick, what happened to the 3rd outfit? Tony has one Milton's son has the other and number three? They should be in a museum and at least paraded now and then don't you think?

They have been paraded in the recent past, usually the front exit one at the beezumph.I seem to recall reading somewhere that the third one wound up with a Konig in it in the late 70s?May have belonged to Dave Hallam at one point?

Tony and Graham were at the forefront of the project but Robin Williams was the third member. He was responsible
for much of the engineering and back room work. Robin finished his sidecar career campaigning a Manx Norton outfit
in Vintage meetings to very great effect

Personally I think they should have been put up for and MBE for their efforts. For 3 men in a shed to achieve what they did at that time, both in sport and engineering was remarkable.

The third one`s gathering dust in an aircraft hanger, still belongs to his widow. An ex driver from the area, wanted to restore it for her and enter it for the Centenary TT parade, but she wasn`t interested, so there it sits! Shame

This pic was taken at Mallory VMCC 1000 bikes in the paddock 2010. Tony is sitting left. Two British machines, our ex TV BSA and Tony's Magnum. I have some on track pics which I will post if I can find them.
