Info needed. S100 1971 Sidecar races
Hi all. I'm trying to get any information I can on the 1971 S100 sidecar races. My Uncle Dave (David French) came 1st and 3rd that year and I'd really like to get any information, pictures, even commentary recordings if possible. If anyone can help, please get in touch. Thanks

Hi Bob,
This is from the S100 website for 1971. http://www.southern100.com/results/1971/71r6.htm
Sadly it doesn't show any times or passenger etc. And it only has the first race.
hope thats a good start.
George Peach at the S100 club is a great blokw who I am sure would be able to help more. I'm sure his number will be on their site but if not PM me and i will send it to you.
cheers
JC

There is a book, which is now £2.99 in a local bookshop. Has all the results... would you like me to get it for you? The postage will be more than the book, I reckon!

Dave and Neil Thompson won the Championship race from Gordon Nottingham . Dave or Gordon had clutch slip but either way Gordon only just failed to get past Dave and Niel who were on BSA Windle or Windrick. Peter Williams won the first sidecar race from Bill Currie and Dave. In the Championship race Peter Williams led but retired and Bill Currie with Peter Casey in the chair crashed at Stadium, Im sure Bill told me he broke his back ? It was a bad crash anyway. Bill had been the double winner the year before.

your spot on with that, i,ve seen the pictures of him sitting on the bent bike , with his ankles in plaster , and crutches by his side. on a lighter note when i was his mechanic , he always new when it was going to rain , and how much rain we were going to have depending on how much his ankles gave him gip. This was always the signal for me to Quote get the wets ready Stan.
