I started from 3rd row, got a Brilliant start, Derek Brindley didnt, so I passed him off the line, he got me back at cascades no surprise there then ;) , then going up to the Hairpin, the clutch started to slip and we had clutch slip all race

Very end of August 96, yep was oiginally 107% but only 7 bike qualified, I went to see John Ward who was clerk of the course at gthe time. After lot of talking he upped it to 110% 7 or 8 stll couldn't race though. John, Roger, ang Yangi were all paked up with engine problems at the bottom of cascades I think it was during qualifying

Remember it well! The scourge of Oulton Bank holiday usage hours! 1 qualiyfying session on Saturday i think in which a few of us did no more than a lap - but we did manage to park up together which was sweet  And all the time in the world to rebuild engines - but no point as they wouldnt let us start anyway
That wasn't your paddock-stag night was it Karl? Must dig those pictures out
