RCS-Racing´s rare Carbon-Windle-Yamaha for sale

Unread post by RCSracer »

RCS-Racing is selling their unique Carbon Windle outfit. After the retirement of the Carbon-Windle from active racing (International Sidecar Trophy) at the end of the 2019 season (team changed to an Adolf-Kawasaki) the outfit was prepared to be stored in a dry garage and should be reconverted back to 2-stroke to be used in classic in the future. Due to plan changes the outfit is now for sale. The History of the Chassis isn´t 100% clear because Terry Windle doesn´t used frame-numbers. He built 5 of them from 1989 until 1991 and 3 of them should still exist (our knowledge). But we checked our chassis on unique characteristics with Dave Smith (Smith Brothers, 1989 Sidecar World Championship on Carbon-Windle) and therefore might be the number one. Later the outfit was converted to a 1000ccm Yamaha 4-stroke engine (R1, first injection version, RN09) and newer versions of AP Racing calipers. Our Team bought the outfit with a nearly new Jason-Miller Kevlar/carbon fairing in 2012 during a Scotland vacation in Callander and used the Sidecar from 2013 until 2019 with some small updates on chassis (rear suspension, handle-bar mounting) successfully with several podiums in the International Sidecar Trophy and finished overall 3rd in 2019.

The outfit will come with 3 engines and 10 wheels (2x side, 3x front, 5x back. One set of slicks and Wet´s are useable, rest w/o ore old tyres) and also a lot of spares (2nd FRITZE-Yamaha injection, 4th engine in parts, sprockets, different springs for suspension, e.g.). Can be ready to race on short notice (only change liquids) for Classic-meetings or as a really unique base for reconversion to 2-stroke engines.

Engine 1 : complete new built for 2019 season by FETTE Mechanik, sump-plate, race-clutch, just approx.. 1500km
Engine 2 : FRITZE-Yamaha, sump-plate, race-clutch, rebuilt mid of 2017 season and used until engine 1 was mounted. Still in very good condition.
Engine 3 : Standard RN09 with low overall milage (only used few times), sump-plate mounted.

The outfit is located in the north of Germany, close to Hannover

Price : 13 500.00 € ono

That does look like the first carbon one we did. The give away is the top radius edge with the carbon tape that they laid in the mould first. None of the rest had it in there. It is the best out of the ones we made.

Sorry, can´t tell you the difference, we never weighted the chassis alone. But Terry told me some years ago, that the chassis was very expensive and therefore no financial success for him.

Greetings
