Honda cbr600 oil

Unread post by Dewiwms »

Totally new to the sidecar world
What oil would you recommend running in my cbr 600 engine in my f2?
And how much does it hold?
Thanks

I used to run my engines in on a good mineral oil (Castrol GTX was recommended) for at least 100 miles before switching over to synthetic. Use up to max revs ...but not max throttle.
When Mick Boddice was running Hondas, he destroyed a couple of newly built Keith Whiting engines before they realised that the engines weren't actually bedding in on synthetic oil.
My engines were built by Keith and he recommended the above procedure. I never had a problem.
Quantity would be the same as manufacturers recommendations.
Older - but none the wiser
