From iomtt.com

Heavy cloud and intermittent showers have led to Wednesday’s racing schedule at the 2011 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy being delayed by one hour.

The weather forecast suggests the cloud will break up and showers become lighter and less frequent as the day progresses, so it is hoped there will be action on the track today.

Keep visiting iomtt.com or listening to Manx Radio TT for the latest news.

The Mountain section of the course is now scheduled to close at 10.30am, with the rest of the course shut by 11am.

The second Monster Energy Supersport TT, the first race of the day, is scheduled to start at 11.45am, and after Monday’s first 600cc outing, the stage is set for a four-lap thriller.

During the first race, Australian Cameron Donald, Michael Dunlop and Gary Johnson were all early pace-setters, and, had it not been for mechanical problems suffered by Dunlop and Donald and Johnson’s pit strategy, the trio could all have challenged for victory.

However it was Bruce Anstey who won the shortened race, notching up his eighth TT victory. Amor had a strong outing for second, his best TT result so far, and Guy Martin’s confidence in the Suzuki machinery grows with every race.

Amor is getting fitter every day as he recovers from the shoulder injury suffered in practice and Martin is hungry for that first TT win – so both could be threats today.

Plus, of course, you can never discount John McGuinness, who finished fifth, and Dan Kneen, sixth on Monday, will be out to fight for Manx honour.

The second Sure Sidecar race is scheduled for 1.45pm, and after Saturday’s performance it would take a brave person to bet against Klaus Klaffenbock and Dan Sayle securing their fourth TT win in a row.

However, three laps is a long way and rivals like John Holden/Andy Winkle and Conrad Harrison/Mike Aylott, second and third on Saturday, and Tim Reeves/Gregory Kluze, who were just pipped to the podium on the final lap of the opening race for the chairs, will all be chasing the top step.

The one-lap SCS TT Zero race for clean emission machines is due away at 4pm and whilst most expect the Segway MotoCzysz pairing of Mark Miller, last year’s winner, and TT veteran Michael Rutter to be favourites for victory, the real question is whether they can achieve the 100mph average lap speed and pick up the £10,000 prize on offer.

With the racing programme done, there is plenty more to keep all eyes glued to the course.

At 5pm, rally star Mark Higgins is due to drive another Subaru Demonstration Lap. His first attempt, on Monday, ended with an average speed of 113mph, and with that experience under his belt, the Manx ace could go even quicker.

The day ends with one of the highlights of the 2011 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy, the Arai Parade Lap, scheduled for 5.45pm.

This will be a chance for fans to see the hero of the 2010 TT Ian Hutchinson, who won all five solo races but has been forced to sit out this year due to a leg injury, ride the course alongside current MotoGP stars Nicky Hayden and Cal Crutchlow as well as motorcycle Grand Prix legend Mick Doohan.
