Re: Konny 500 John Perkins chassis

Nothing to do MRE, nor is it a copy. Jon and Peter Allebone built that together, in 2004 - before Mike had made any classics!

Re: Frank Wrathall Outfit

I seem to remember it was Honda - the only manufacturer supporting the TT at the time - who protested Neil`s fuel injection and not until late in practice week - giving him no time to set it up with carbs and of course, he consequently retired. Guess who won both sidecar events! (they did the same s...

Sidecar festival results

Is there anywhere I can check past results for the sidecar festivals at Mallory? Tried asking EMRA, but had no reply.

Re: From Paul Riley - 40yr maximum age for Newcomers at TT

There used to be an age limit of 60 for the TT, I seem to remember, but that was done away with years ago in favour of a medical only. To suddenly bring in a 40 limit, is a pretty big change of stance.

Re: TIN CHASSIS

The bottom line should be, if it was raced in the period, it`s ok to be raced now - simples. People are saying they`re not innovating, but racing. They`re certainly innovating in going quicker - 900 Hondas, 1100 BMWs, 1040 Imps, 900 Weslakes. Yes it was a 1300 limit in the period, but no one had tho...

Re: Where have all the tyres gone?

Avon are going to produce some moulds and offer tyres for sometime next season, I believe. Slightly different tread pattern - less blocks, so more grip and longer life presumably?! We`ll see! I understand Dunlop will resume production, if a large enough - and paid up front - order is secured, but no...

I remember that green imp, raced my imp against it at Snett in the early 80s - and yes, it was quick!

Not sure that`s Digby`s outfit - could be! Looks more like an original KGB except for the swinging arm posts. Digby bought Kurt`s original KGB, but he junked/sold the chassis (to Charlie Kilduff, Andy Smith`s brother-in-law) and built his own, which was little like the original, except for the rear ...

Kind words Mike, thanks! Mmmm, happy days and good memories - what life`s about, really! Yes . . . the Neval! I remember you point blank refused to give me one of your MRE stickers for the front of it!! Will definitely visit . . . once the dog`s died!

At last! Beginning to think you never would f*** off, you mad Welshman!! Very best of times to you both . . . . still regret selling my F2 - my baby! Awesome outfit, handled like nothing else. Had some great rides on the side of you too - always went home with a pot . . . or a blown engine, nothing ...

The third one`s gathering dust in an aircraft hanger, still belongs to his widow. An ex driver from the area, wanted to restore it for her and enter it for the Centenary TT parade, but she wasn`t interested, so there it sits! Shame

Lives not too far from Mablethorpe I think and used to beach race a solo there. Had a chat with him at the Manx last year (2014), where he was campaigning a solo, so they could help you with some contact details, maybe.

Re: Neil Smith & Terrie Salone

I used to see him when when we raced the outfit on the beach at Mablethorpe in the winter. He was racing solos and still had his outfits - Duke included, but little work and no money! That was a few years ago, but he lives not far from Mablethorpe. Nice guy.
