Re: Honda CBX 6 Outfits

Aintree 1883. I think number 11 is Rob Cooper on his CBX, I also think number 16 is Des Founds. Thats me on our 350 in the middle, the blue silver & red outfit. The chassis was a Fidderman bought from Mick Hudson of York, we fitted the 350 into it. Great picture Ian, brings back lots of memorie...

Honda CBX 6 Outfits

I remember 2 Honda CBX 6 outfits that were raced, I think Alan Fisher had one and the other was a Winstanley framed outfit built by the guy who had the Honda shop in Eccles (can't remember his name due to old age now  ), a guy called Rob Cooper from the Wirral bought that one and did quite wel...

Re: Ireson lwb Outfits

That's the long outfit I remember Derek Jones riding Ian, think they experimented with some kind of 'aerofoil' type of streamlining over the back end, looked superb at the time !

Chassis strength

Lots of tubular chassis I've seen nowadays seem to undergo (or have done in the past) many major structural changes to accomodate different engines etc , only thing I remember having done welding wise in the late 70's/early 80's was maybe to change a handhold, gear change rod or remove a front exit ...

Re: EMRA Mallory Park Round four

Could be down to the age old argument of how much it costs to go racing nowadays ? plus how many young & newer sidecar crews are joining the ranks because of cost ? Maybe too many different classes in the sidecars now, always had over subscribed full grids when it was the open 1300 class .........
