The "Party in the Park" at the picturesque Cadwell Park circuit will now include the Hyundai Heavy Industries British Sidecar Championship on 18-20th August.
The Silverstone BSB round scheduled for the second weekend of September will go ahead as planned with a full solo programme, but the opportunity to switch the sidecars to a circuit that will provide much closer and more interesting racing was put forward.
Whilst consideration has been given to potential disruption of possible holiday arrangements and other commitments, RKB-F1 hopes that the teams will view the move as a positive one.
Roger Body, following the agreement reached with Stuart Higgs – Race Director of BSB said, "We all know that Silverstone is long, wide and open, and therefore does not present our series in the best light. We have been asking to go to Cadwell for several seasons now, so when the invitation was made, I accepted. The Cadwell Park BSB round, one of the biggest UK bike racing events of the year, with all the publicity that brings, was too good a chance to miss. This is the best stage possible for us at a time when we have packed grids and close racing. I apologise sincerely for the late change of plan, but we are working as closely as possible with MSV, and this is one more step in cementing what is already a very close relationship".
