After suffering a couple of spins in the opening round of the British F2 Sidecar championship at Croft Team SaS, Giles and Jen Stainton from Upton found they had lost a bit of confidence in their racing and took time out to rediscover their love for the sport.

After a couple of weekends giving taxi rides for the public on the sidecar platform and then taking in a classic meeting at Darley Moor the passion for racing returned and the husband and wife duo travelled to Snetterton in Norfolk to test the outfit and then take part in the two British Championship races where they secured a brace of fifth places in their class.

Snetterton plays host to round three of the championship this coming weekend (16-17th June). Leading the charge into Norfolk are Steve Kershaw and Stuart Clark aboard the Molson Santander Salt 1000cc Kawasaki. They enjoy a twenty-seven point advantage over team-mates Todd Ellis and Chaz Richardson who campaign a 600cc Honda.

From Pat Hamblin...

After discussion with the organisers BMCRC have now re-instated the F2 class into the Sidecar Revival meeting at Cadwell Park on 23/24 June

Initially the class was dropped has there had been no interest however with the cancellation of the Oliver's Mount meeting teams have now shown interest so lets support what should be a chance to mix with the BSB F1 teams and the GP Original solo class. There is good track time and the entry fee is good too, BMCRC membership is included for this round.

Attached are the regs with closing date now next weekend 15th June the paddock plan and the race schedule... CLICK READ MORE

• Holden / Cain continue good form in Sidecar session

Dean Harrison set the 2018 Isle of Man TT Races, fuelled by Monster Energy, alight on Tuesday evening with a stunning lap of 133.462mph, which unofficially broke the Superbike lap record and also saw him become the second rider to lap the Mountain Course in less than 17 minutes.

The Silicone Engineering Kawasaki rider laid down a marker from the outset with an opening lap of 133.140mph, the fastest ever standing start lap – albeit unofficially – before increasing his pace second time around. The Bradford rider’s quickest lap prior to tonight was 132.019mph, set in last year’s PokerStars Senior TT race.

Not to be outdone by the solos, the Formula Two Sidecars were also setting a formidable pace and John Holden/Lee Cain scorched round on their opening lap at 115.732mph, which was only three seconds outside their personal best. The Birchalls were second quickest at 114.875mph with Alan Founds/Jake Lowther (112.602) slotting into third ahead of Dave Molyneux/Dan Sayle (111.122).

Honda UK is thrilled to announce it will once again be official motorbike partner to the 2018 Isle of Man TT; and, for the first time ever will be the official car partner.

Eight Civic Type R and eight of the brand new CBR1000RR Fireblade SP have been provided by Honda UK for the Isle of Man TT organisers to patrol the 37.73 mile course throughout the duration of the annual road race.
