Julie Canipa1 350110px

The TT Supporters’ Club is delighted to announce that Julie Canipa is the recipient of the Susan Jenness Trophy for 2018.

Succeeding Estelle Leblond and Melanie Farnier – hard acts to follow – Julie receives this prestigious award for her consistent high-speed performances around the Mountain Course as passenger to Greg Lambert. Now approaching lap speeds of 110mph, the pair set off as one of the highest starters after the seeded crews in the 2018 races to finish in 10th position on their Honda GLR at an average of 107.368mph in the first race. Sadly, mechanical gremlins beset the pair in the second outing for the class.

It’s all change for Sleaford sidecar racer Gary Horspole with passenger Jimmy Connell as the new season heralds a change to the British Sidecar championship.

The new regulations that apply to the 2019 British Championship dictate that competitors will no longer be able to use the big 1000cc engines as in previous years but will switch to 600cc powered outfits.

With this in mind Horspole has made adjustments to his long LCR chassis to accommodate a new Yamaha R6 engine which is in the process of being prepared by Keith Whiting.

With five months still to go before the second running of this unique event, plans are well underway to ensure the 2019 Sidecar Revival sets new levels of professionalism and entertainment.

Many former World Champions have already pledged their presence over the weekend with their legendary machinery, along with the current crop of contemporary World Championship regulars.

Following a season and a half out of racing after a crash at Cadwell Park crash in which he broke his back, the fan's favourite British Superbike rider will once again campaign three wheels in 2019.
In an extension to the close relationship forged between himself and TAG Racing Yamaha during 2018 in which Chris became involved with technical advice, set-up and testing, he will race an R6 powered LCR Sidecar in Anvil Hire/TAG Racing colours.
His passenger for this exciting new venture will be Tom Christie, the youngest of three racing brothers from a Lincolnshire family steeped in sidecar racing.

Dan Sayle has posted the following on his facebook page and we thought we should help share..

"It sickens me having to post this, but during my time away in hospital after I crashed the 250 a number of things were taken from my truck and van. I was hoping it was just misplaced however after a closer look know I'm a bit more moile it's confirmed a number of items missing.
This watch is one of the things missing, I still have the passort and have reported it in as missing. It is very distinctive as it's inscribed on the rear as Sidecar TT winner. It also the bottom button missing, I also still have this part.
As posted above I have a substantial reward to give to anybody who can return this item to me or provide with some info that gets it back to me

Many Thanks
