The end of season Race of the Year event has been cancelled, it has been confirmed.
The annual event which was due to be held on the 25th of October 2015 will no longer take place. The management team at Mallory Park Circuit have announced that due to factors outside of their control the decision has regrettably been made to cancel this year's event.
The Race of the Year, which is a well-established event held annually at the circuit, was due to incorporate the Sidecar Race of the Year for the first time, and was set to see a whole host of machines taking to the track to provide a truly varied racing spectacle for fans to enjoy.
Natalie Hansard, for Real Motorsport Ltd says: "The Race of the Year is a real highlight on Mallory Park's calendar and an event that we are thoroughly proud to hold here at the circuit. It has not been an easy decision to make, but due to factors outside of our control, this year's event has had to be cancelled. The Race of the year is not something we are removing from the calendar altogether, a date has been set and work has already began on next year's event".
"We would like to thank all competitors for entries that have been received and interest that has been shown to date. An extended thank you to our title sponsors Santander Salt and RST, and also to the team at East Midland Racing Association for their continuing support and assistance."
A general test day for ACU licence holders will now take place on Sunday 25th October. A full day can be booked at the discounted rate of £115, or a half day, AM or PM, can be booked at the standard rate of £75.
