Lee Crawford and Sam Christie once again impressed as the "real road racing" season got underway, in a severely disrupted weekend of racing at Oliver's Mount, Scarborough, eventually claiming two runners up placings and two fastest laps; the second of which being their personal best time to date around the picturesque seaside circuit.

Brother Graham is recovering well from his accident last year at the TT. We as a family haven't been updating people constantly. It was a conscious decision to keep the pressure off during his recovery but Graham posted this earlier this evening and I do feel the need to share this one - knowing what will be coming soon.

Another good day, the Follow Up from the Infectious Diseases Ward (where I lived in a room by myself for 4-5 weeks when my blood clot got infected) my DVT has now completely gone.... The next step is to have the minor op to have the filter removed and then I can come off the tablets..... The last 10 months has not been a journey I would wish on anyone, but thanks to a couple of special people, Glenda Darbyshire and Dave, I was here to start the journey....

Sidecar Race Winner Eddy Wright returns to the Blackford's Pre-TT Classic Road Races to defend his Camathias Cup title he secured last year, however once again he will be up against 2014 winner, Manxman Wally Saunders, who like the veteran Yorkshireman wants to be first to receive the chequered flag in this prestigious classic sidecar race.

With a week before entries close (in fact now, get in very quick if you haven't - it's taken me a week to get this on here - SE!) for the Blackford Financial Services Pre-TT Classic Road Races, 212 entries have so far been received for the seven solo plus two Sidecar races being held on Saturday and Bank Holiday Monday 28th & 30 th May, with practice and qualifying on the Friday 27 th and Saturday prior to racing.

The Department of Economic Development (DED) is to seek the approval of Tynwald to appoint UK events company Vision Nine as the promoter of the TT and Classic TT Races.

Vision Nine has targets that would see spectator numbers for the TT and Classic TT grow significantly by 2026 while generating double the economic benefit for the Isle of Man and a DED saving of £23 million.

Ryan with the IEG Superstock BMW and SGS International Kawasaki-300px

Ryan Farquhar has today (Wednesday) announced his plans for the 2016 International road racing season and it promises to be one of the most exciting yet in his illustrious career.

The Dungannon ace is set to have a three pronged attack across the Superbike, Superstock and Lightweight classes with the biggest news being that he will be switching to BMW power for the 1000cc categories after eight years with Kawasaki.

Southern 100 Racing, organisers of the Post TT Road Races are pleased to announce that a new sponsor has been secured for the Post TT Road Races.

Radcliffe Butchers of Castletown have taken on the role of ‘Title Sponsor’ for the popular event which has brought the curtain down on the TT Races since 1991.

Chris Lennon, Managing Director of the business said: ‘When I heard that the club were looking for a sponsor for the Post TT Races, it was an opportunity to continue Radcliffe’s association and support for the Southern 100 Racing organisation.

Tim Reeves and Patrick Farrance enjoyed a superb two days of racing at Oliver's Mount, Scarborough at the weekend with the AOS/Team E-Aide Motorsport pairing winning all four Formula Two Sidecar races.

Saturday's opening six lap race was held in wet conditions but a superb start by the duo saw them grab the lead at the first corner and, aided by the fastest lap of the race, they were able to steadily increase their lead over Ian and Carl Bell to eventually take the win by almost five seconds.

The Isle of Man's Billy Redmayne and Horwich rider Malachi Mitchell-Thomas continued their Isle of Man Mountain Course rivalry from last year's Manx Grand Prix Newcomers race in today's Mylchreest Motors Junior Race at the IMGold Manx Grand Prix.

Redmayne again triumphed, as he did last year, but only by a winning margin of 1.8 seconds after a close battle with Silicone Engineering Racing's Mitchell Thomas. His win came despite his accident in Monday's practice, which saw him taken by airmed to Nobles Hospital.

Wins for Vines and Fryer in Newcomers B and C Races

The Isle of Man's Peter Wilkinson followed illustrious names including Ian Hutchinson, Robert Dunlop, Michael Dunlop, Carl Fogarty, Phillip McCallen and Ryan Farquhar for a popular win in the IMGold Manx Grand Prix Newcomers A Race, the opening race of the Manx Grand Prix, on the Isle of Man. Gary Vines took the chequered flag in the Newcomers B (SuperTwin) class while Elwyn Fryer was first home in the Newcomers C (Lightweight) Race.

After a delay of almost four hours due to technical issues with the communications system between Sector Marshals and Race Control, the second day's racing at the 2015 Classic TT Races presented by Bennetts finally got underway at 2pm. Conditions were reported as perfect for racing around the Mountain Course with dry roads all round the 37.73 mile circuit.

The first race of the day, the Okells 350cc Classic TT Race, was cut to three laps from four as a result of the delay which was expected to hand the advantage to the MV Agustas with their greater power as they could now run straight through rather than having to refuel.

Dan leads Michael Rutter at Kates Cottage250px

Dan Cooper was cruelly denied his first win around the Isle of Man Mountain Course when the Stroud rider was forced to retire from Monday afternoon's 350cc Classic TT whilst leading.

Riding the 350cc Molnar Manx Norton, Dan was lying in second place after the first lap around the 37.73-mile course but it was close as he was only 1.8s behind race leader Michael Rutter. On the second lap, Dan took over the lead with his gap over Rutter up to almost three seconds at Ramsey Hairpin. Rutter reduced that slightly over the final third of the lap but with a speed of 101.613mph, Dan led by 1.3s with just one lap to go.
